Davido security clash leads to fatal shooting in Osogbo
A shooting incident in Osogbo, Osun State, resulted in the death of 60-year-old Tajudeen Yusuf following a confrontation involving suspected hoodlums and the security team of singer Davido.
The incident occurred at the Itaolokan area after Governor Ademola Adeleke visited the Ataoja of Osogbo's palace. According to the Osun State Police Command, a suspected thug known as Adebayo Taoreed, or ‘Small Rugged’, allegedly attempted to reach Davido but was blocked by his security detail. This confrontation drew other suspected gang members who temporarily blocked the palace entrance.
As the suspects were departing the area, they reportedly opened fire, striking Yusuf. The victim was rushed to the University Teaching Hospital in Osogbo, where he was pronounced dead. Preliminary police investigations suggest that members of the Eye Confraternity were specifically targeting Davido during the encounter. The police have launched a full-scale investigation into the shooting.
