Osun State Police investigate killing of man in Osogbo

The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the killing of 60-year-old Tajudeen Yusuf by suspected hoodlums in Osogbo. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in the Ita-Olokan area, shortly after Governor Ademola Adeleke and his nephew, the singer Davido, completed a courtesy visit to the Ataoja of Osogbo.

According to Police Public Relations Officer Abiodun Ojelabi, a confrontation broke out when an individual identified as Adebayo Taoreed, also known as ‘Small Rugged’, attempted to access Davido but was blocked by security personnel. This confrontation reportedly drew other suspected gang members who temporarily obstructed movement near the palace.

Following the departure of the governor’s convoy, the suspects allegedly shot Yusuf. The victim was transported to the University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, where he was pronounced dead. Commissioner of Police Samuel Etaifo has condemned the act, and authorities have launched a full-scale investigation to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
