During the NHL Draft in June, Senators General Manager Steve Staios reportedly evaluated several trade offers. While the Pittsburgh Penguins expressed interest involving a roster player for a potential 2026 draft pick, Staios declined most offers that consisted solely of draft pick shuffles.

Moving into the upcoming season, the Senators possess $4.1 million in salary cap space. Analysts suggest the team may pursue free agents such as Vladimir Tarasenko or Michael Bunting, or potentially explore trades involving defenseman Thomas Chabot to bolster their forward group.
