Our Sticky Love tops Netflix weekly non-English series chart

The South Korean romantic comedy series ‘Our Sticky Love’ has reached the top of Netflix’s weekly non-English language chart. The series, starring Jung Hae-in and Ha Young, recorded 7.5 million views during the tracking week ending Sunday.

The show reached the top 10 in 68 countries and held the number one position in 26 countries, including South Korea, Brazil, Indonesia, and Singapore. The plot follows a boxing coach, played by Jung, and an ambitious prosecutor, played by Ha Young, who suffers from memory loss.

Despite the show's success, lead actress Ha Young recently faced controversy regarding her great-grandfather’s alleged involvement in pro-Japanese activities during the colonial era (1910-45). Ha Young later expressed that she was ‘sincerely sorry’ for her initial dismissal of the allegations.

Other South Korean productions also appeared on the weekly charts, with ‘Spooky in Love’ ranking third and the action thriller ‘Agent Kim Reactivated’ ranking ninth.
