Oura postpones $2.2 billion Nasdaq IPO due to market uncertainty

Oura, the manufacturer of smart rings, has postponed its planned initial public offering (IPO) on the Nasdaq, citing uncertainty in the IPO market. The company had previously filed plans to raise up to $2.2 billion through the sale of 50 million shares, which would have valued the firm at approximately $15 billion.

Despite the delay, Oura reported strong business fundamentals, including profitability and a growing user base of 5.7 million paid members. The company expects revenue to grow by 90% year-over-year for the fiscal year 2026. CEO Tom Hale stated that the company has the “luxury of choosing our moment” and that the IPO is merely one step in its long-term journey.

Oura is not the only company to delay its market debut recently; Holtec International and Bamboo Insurance have also postponed their listings. Analysts suggest these delays reflect broader macroeconomic headwinds, including rising interest rates, inflation fears, and geopolitical tensions, which have created a more challenging environment for new equity issuances.
