Ourense Film Festival hosts musical tribute and documentary premiere

The Ourense Film Festival (OUFF) featured two major cultural tributes during its current edition. One event was a musical homage to the ‘Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy, marking the 25th anniversary of the Peter Jackson adaptations. The ‘OUFF Films Symphony’ performance featured over 120 musicians and singers from the Orquesta e Coro Ourensanía, directed by José Luis Tielas, performing Howard Shore’s original compositions.

Additionally, the festival hosted the world premiere of a documentary by director María Yáñez dedicated to the legacy of singer Ana Kiro. The film explores the life and impact of the artist, who was a significant cultural icon for the Galician community and emigrants. The documentary is part of the festival’s Official Section, Panorama Galicia, and is scheduled for wider theatrical release in December.
