Ousmane Sonko and Bassirou Diomaye Faye face political rift

A significant political rift has emerged between Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye and the President of the National Assembly, Ousmane Sonko. During a recent meeting in Linguère, Sonko criticized the current administration's management, stating that the political reality has diverged from the aspirations of the Senegalese people.

Sonko highlighted that the sacrifices made by citizens, including lives lost and imprisonments, were intended to change the system rather than sustain it. This confrontation follows the establishment of the KIIRAAY (Les Patriotes Républicains) party by Faye, which has positioned the former allies in a leadership struggle rather than a collaborative partnership.
