European outdoor pools host seasonal dog swimming events

Outdoor swimming pools across Germany and the Netherlands are hosting special dog-only swimming events to mark the end of the summer season.

In Germany, the Raffteich pool in Braunschweig is organizing a dog swimming event featuring a puppy pool and sprint competitions. In Soest, the Soestebad will host a dog swimming day on September 20 after its seasonal closure. Castrop-Rauxel’s Parkbad Nord has scheduled its annual dog swimming for September 12 and 13, while Wiesbaden’s Kallebad will host a dedicated event on September 13, with proceeds benefiting local animal welfare.

In the Netherlands, the Axel outdoor pool held its 13th annual dog day, raising approximately 1,000 euros for the Zeeuwsch-Vlaanderen animal shelter. Similarly, the Het Paradyske pool in Kollum celebrated its seventh annual ‘Hondenplons’ on August 30, where 80 dogs participated in the seasonal finale.
