Outlander: Blood of My Blood explores character separation in season 2
The second season of the Outlander spinoff, ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’, has introduced significant plot developments regarding the separation of characters Henry and Julia. Following a failed attempt to cross the stones with their infant, Julia was returned to Lord Lovat, while Henry was transported back to the 20th century, where he was institutionalized in a psychiatric hospital and suffered memory loss due to electroshock therapy.
Showrunner and executive producer Matthew B. Roberts addressed the recurring theme of character separation in the franchise, noting that such conflicts are used to highlight the depth of the characters' love and the epic nature of their yearning.
The season premiere also features the return of legacy characters from the original series, including Reverend Wakefield and Madame Graham, providing continuity for long-time fans.
