Overview

The second season of the Outlander prequel series, ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’, premiered in September 2026. The season follows the aftermath of characters attempting to travel through the standing stones of Craigh na Dun.

In the 18th-century storyline, tensions within Clan MacKenzie escalate. In the third episode, ‘Rabbits Don’t Swim’, Ellen MacKenzie defends Castle Leoch against James MacKinney, killing him after he reveals that Lord Lovat has made a deal with the English to ambush front forces. By the fifth episode, ‘Forgive Me, Father’, the Battle of Sheriffmuir impacts the families. Brian MacKenzie and Henry find themselves on opposing sides of the battlefield, while Julia faces a confrontation with Seema at Castle Leathers regarding a past affair between Henry and Seema.

In the fourth episode, ‘A Portion of My Soul’, Henry returns through the stones but is captured by Arch Bug’s men. He faces twenty lashes from the new laird, Malcolm ‘Mac’ Grant, and reveals he has no memory of his daughter, Claire.

The sixth episode, ‘Small Mercies’, introduces a teenage Jonathan Wolverton Randall, later known as Black Jack Randall, at Fort William. Brian Fraser intervenes to save the young soldier, a decision that foreshadows Randall’s future role as an antagonist.
