Outlander: Blood of My Blood Season 2 Episode 4 developments

In the fourth episode of the second season of ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’, titled ‘A Portion of My Soul’, Henry returns through the stones and is captured by Arch Bug’s men. To avoid conflict, Henry claims he was visited by the ‘fair folk’, a deception that leads Arch’s wife, Murdina, to advise leaving him alone to avoid a curse.

Henry faces retribution from the new laird, Malcolm ‘Mac’ Grant, who orders twenty lashes for Henry’s previous absence. Arch pretends to carry out the whipping to satisfy the order without causing real harm. Meanwhile, Julia learns through a messenger that Henry has returned to the Grants.

A significant plot development occurs when Henry, having traveled through the stones, reveals he has no memory of his daughter, Claire. Actress Hermione Corfield noted that the character of Julia must balance her feelings of devastation with the need to reconnect with Henry, especially given the looming threat of war and Henry’s mental health struggles.
