Overgeared anime adaptation set for October 2026 release

The Korean manhwa series ‘Overgeared’ is set to receive an anime adaptation, scheduled to premiere on October 2, 2026. In Japan, the series will debut on Tokyo MX and BS11 following an early streaming release on Prime Video starting September 27, 2026. Crunchyroll has confirmed it will stream the series internationally.

Produced by J. C. Staff and directed by Ayako Kono, the animation follows Shin Youngwoo, a low-level player in the game ‘Satisfy’ who acquires a legendary item. The project features a voice cast including Tatsumaru Tachibana and Asami Seto.

This release is part of a growing trend of webtoon and manhwa adaptations. Other notable upcoming or recent projects include the anime ‘SSS-Class Revival Hunter’ (January 2027), ‘Tomb Raider King’ (launched July 2026), and the live-action Netflix series ‘Viral Hit’. WEBTOON has previously established a deal with Warner Bros. to co-produce animated adaptations of its platform's series.
