Overwatch developers confirm Tracer remains the game's mascot

During Blizzcon 2026, Overwatch developers confirmed that the character Tracer remains the official mascot of the franchise. Despite a perceived decrease in her presence in recent promotional materials and collaborations, art director Dion Rogers stated that Tracer is “still the mascot for Overwatch. Very much.”

In addition to discussing the franchise's identity, the development team introduced Doctrine, the game's newest support hero. Described as a vampire-inspired character with a narrative connection to Doomfist, Doctrine is the 54th hero added to the roster. The design was driven by a desire to explore a vampire motif within the Overwatch universe.
