Ovie Omo-Agege seeks pastoral support, alleges threats from Governor

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Delta Central, has appealed to Christian leaders for support and prayers ahead of the 2027 elections. Addressing the Concerned Pastors for Good Governance (CPGG) in Ughelli, Omo-Agege urged religious leaders to promote unity, civic responsibility, and peaceful electoral processes.

During his address, Omo-Agege alleged that Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has threatened his life during the ongoing campaign. While he did not provide specific details regarding these threats, he requested that pastors pray for the safety of himself, his family, and his campaign team.

Omo-Agege highlighted his legislative record from his 2015–2023 tenure, citing the establishment of the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, the Federal Polytechnic and Defence Space School in Orogun, and the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences, Kwale. He also advocated for support for the NDC’s broader slate of candidates, including presidential candidate Peter Obi.
