Oviedo 2031 cultural candidacy holds community meeting in La Argañosa

The Oviedo 2031 European Capital of Culture candidacy held its third ‘Sentémonos’ community meeting in the La Argañosa neighborhood. This session marked the initiative's first move from central city locations into local neighborhoods to gather resident input and explain the project's core concept, ‘amabilidá’ (kindness).

Participants included local youth interested in volunteering, tour guides seeking to better explain the city's message to visitors, and migrant residents. Many migrants noted that the concept of ‘amabilidá’ resonated with their own experiences of being welcomed to Asturias.

Marta Fernández Silverio, the Youth Commissioner for Oviedo 2031, described the response as very positive. The next scheduled meeting for the collective construction project will take place in Ventanielles at the Pierre Coubertin plaza.
