Ozalj and Rovinj named finalists in Best City Awards

The ninth annual Best City Awards, organized by Gradonačelnik.hr, Jutarnji list, and Ipsos, have announced their finalists. Several Croatian cities have reached the final stages across various categories.

Ozalj has been named a finalist in the category for the greatest progress in quality of life. The city's nomination is attributed to improvements in municipal finances, increased spending on culture, and a significant rise in waste management investment. Additionally, Ozalj has focused on youth and education through school expansions, new sports facilities, and various social supports for families and students.

Rovinj has reached the finals in two categories: Quality of Life and Education, Demography, Social Policy, and Youth. In the education and social policy category, Rovinj stands out among medium-sized cities for its high expenditure on scholarships and tuition, as well as a favorable student-to-teacher ratio. In the quality of life category, the city performs strongly in metrics such as gross salary per employee and average income per inhabitant.

The winners will be announced on October 21 in Šibenik during the Days of Regional Development and EU Funds.
