Pé-de-Meia program releases August student incentives in Brazil

The Brazilian federal government is continuing the disbursement of the Pé-de-Meia program, a financial incentive designed to encourage high school students to remain in the public education system. The program operates as a savings mechanism for students aged 14 to 24.

Payments for August are being released in stages based on the students' birth months. For regular high school students, the incentive consists of up to nine annual installments of R$ 200 each, provided they maintain at least 80% school attendance. Students in the Youth and Adult Education (EJA) modality receive a different structure, with up to four installments of R$ 225 per cycle, totaling up to eight annual payments.

To qualify, students must be enrolled in the public school system and have an active registration in the Cadastro Único (CadÚnico), with a per capita family income of up to half a minimum wage. Participation is automatic for those meeting the criteria. Funds are deposited into accounts opened by Caixa in the student's name and can be managed via the Caixa Tem application.
