Antonio Riveroll appointed Secretary General of Cancún

The Cabildo of Benito Juárez has approved the resignation of Pablo Gutiérrez Fernández from his position as Secretary General of the City Council. Gutiérrez Fernández stepped down to participate in the internal process of the Morena party, seeking the coordination of the Municipal Committees for the Defense of Transformation and National Sovereignty in Cancún.

Antonio de Jesús Riveroll Ribbón has been appointed as the new Secretary General. Riveroll Ribbón, who previously served as the director of Civil Protection in Cancún, holds degrees in Economics and Finance and a master's in Government and Public Policy. He intends to focus on citizen service, inter-departmental coordination, and reviewing municipal regulations to address the city's growth.

In a separate session, the council unanimously approved municipal reforms aimed at ensuring equitable access to public beaches for vulnerable groups and those with limited resources. Other approved measures include recognizing the work of caregivers, restructuring the Direction of Inclusion for Persons with Disabilities, and institutionalizing the Municipal Program for Student Talent Development.
