Pacaya Volcano to host Guatemalan folklore themed event in 2026

The Guatemalan Institute of Tourism (Inguat) and the Municipality of San Vicente Pacaya have announced ‘Senderos de Leyendas 2026’, a themed event scheduled for October 24 and 25, 2026. The activity will take place within the Pacaya Volcano National Park and Calderas Lagoon.

During the walks along the main trails, visitors will encounter representations of traditional Guatemalan folklore characters, such as La Llorona, El Sombrerón, and La Siguanaba. The event is designed as a family-oriented experience combining natural landscapes with local legends.

No additional fee is required for the event; participants will pay the standard park entry rates. These rates are Q30 for national tourists, Q100 for foreign tourists, and Q10 for national students.
