Pace Digitek Seeks 10 GWh BESS Capacity; BYD Invests R$500 M in Brazil

Pace Digitek plans to expand its battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing capacity from the current 2.5 GWh to a total of 10 GWh by December 2026. The phased rollout adds 2.5 GWh in the second quarter of fiscal year 2027 and a further 5 GWh in the third quarter, with machinery already installed for the first phase and construction completed for the second.

Chinese automaker BYD announced a R$500 million investment to build BESS production facilities in Brazil. The project aims to alleviate constraints in the national electricity grid by providing large‑scale storage for solar and wind power, supporting the country’s renewable‑energy transition. BYD’s senior vice‑president in Brazil highlighted the move as part of a broader strategy to expand the company’s presence beyond vehicles into energy infrastructure.
