Pachuca strengthens public safety with new patrols and transport inspections

The municipality of Pachuca is strengthening its public safety and transport oversight through two major initiatives. The local Secretariat of Public Security, Transit, and Roadways is maintaining the ‘Operativo Transporte Seguro’ (Safe Transport Operation). Between January and August, authorities conducted 3,098 inspections of taxis and collective transport units, resulting in 825 municipal traffic violations and the seizure of 53 vehicles for lacking proper documentation or safety conditions.

In a separate move to bolster law enforcement capabilities, the Pachuca City Council has acquired 11 new patrol vehicles for a total of 15.6 million pesos. The contract was awarded to Hidalmotors S. A. de C. V. following a public bidding process. The fleet includes three gasoline-powered SUVs and eight V8 4x4 double-cabin pick-up trucks, all equipped with specialized emergency lighting, sirens, and security features to support municipal security operations.
