Overview

The municipality of Pachuca has implemented several initiatives focused on public safety and infrastructure development. Early efforts included the ‘Operativo Transporte Seguro’ (Safe Transport Operation), which resulted in over 3,000 inspections of taxis and collective transport units, leading to hundreds of traffic violations and the seizure of 53 vehicles. To support law enforcement, the City Council also acquired 11 new patrol vehicles, including SUVs and 4x4 pick-up trucks, for 15.6 million pesos.

By September, Mayor Jorge Reyes Henríquez reported significant administrative growth, stating that the city achieved investment levels in two years comparable to previous eight-year periods. This period saw 55 million pesos invested in street repairs and 352 million pesos dedicated to hydraulic concrete, water, and drainage works.

Public security measures were further expanded during this time, including a 15 percent salary increase for police officers, the provision of housing through INFONAVIT, and the addition of 49 vehicles, three drones, a K9 unit, and a surveillance network of 556 cameras.
