Pacific Alliance launches rural women's empowerment project in Chile

The Pacific Alliance's Technical Culture Group has launched the “Caminos de Saberes” project, an initiative designed to strengthen the economic and social autonomy of rural women involved in traditional crafts and ancestral practices.

In Chile, the project conducted a territorial diagnostic phase in the Ñuble Region between August 27 and 29. The team visited the localities of San Ignacio, Roblería, and Quinchamalí to hold workshops, focus groups, and interviews with local women's collectives. This diagnostic stage aims to document traditional knowledge, productive capacities, and specific needs to inform the design of future training programs tailored to their cultural and territorial realities.

The initiative is funded by the Pacific Alliance Cooperation Fund and executed by the Universidad Sergio Arboleda of Colombia. In Chile, the project involves participation from the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage.
