Pacific Construction Group proposes major infrastructure projects in Quang Tri
The Pacific Construction Group from China has proposed surveying and researching four major infrastructure and irrigation projects in Quang Tri province, Vietnam.
The most prominent proposal involves upgrading National Highway 12A through a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The proposed 123.6 km road would be upgraded to a four-lane highway with a design speed of 80 km/h. The preliminary investment is estimated at approximately 26 trillion VND, with a projected construction timeline of 36 to 48 months. This highway serves as a vital transport link connecting various ports and the Cha Lo international border gate.
Additionally, the group has proposed three projects focused on irrigation and coastal protection. These include a flood drainage and management system for the Phong Nha - Ke Bang area, erosion control and ecological restoration for Bao Ninh beach, and a coastal protection and beach nourishment project at Nhat Le beach, which may include offshore wave-breaking dykes and artificial island creation.
