Packaging companies to showcase automation at PACK EXPO 2026

Packaging technology companies PAC Machinery and SOMIC Packaging are set to showcase new automation and digital solutions at PACK EXPO International 2026 in Chicago.

PAC Machinery will demonstrate automatic bagging systems, vacuum sealing, and shrink wrapping technologies. A primary focus will be on sustainability, featuring Fiberflex curbside-recyclable paper and ReviveWrap polyolefin shrink film. Their Rollbag systems, such as the R985 and R3200XL Fulfillment, are designed to process both paper and polyethylene materials on the same equipment to increase material flexibility.

SOMIC Packaging will debut the SOMIC 202 packaging machine alongside two new digital services, SOMIC Eagle and SOMIC Connect. These digital tools are designed for machine troubleshooting; Eagle utilizes cameras to capture time-stamped video of machine sequences, while SOMIC Connect shares diagnostic data and error information to assist service teams in identifying faults.
