Paddy Pimblett predicts Ilia Topuria will struggle after first career defeat

UFC lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett has suggested that Ilia Topuria may never be the same fighter following his first professional defeat. Topuria lost his lightweight title to Justin Gaethje at UFC Freedom 250 after his corner stopped the contest following the fourth round.

Pimblett, who is currently ranked fifth in the lightweight division, believes the loss of Topuria’s undefeated record could have a lasting psychological impact. Pimblett noted that while he had to rebuild himself after losing his first fight at age 18, Topuria has maintained an aura of being unbeatable until now.

In addition to the psychological aspect, Pimblett cited physical advantages in a potential matchup, noting he stands three inches taller and holds a four-inch reach advantage over the Georgian-Spanish fighter. While no bout has been officially announced, the two rivals continue to be linked to a potential matchup.
