Padel and tennis drive sports investment growth in Colombia
Padel is experiencing significant expansion in Colombia. As of January 2026, the country recorded 233 active clubs and 687 courts across 53 cities. In 2025 alone, 171 new courts were constructed, according to the Colombian Padel Federation.
Economic activity in the sector has surged, with court reservations exceeding 55 billion pesos in 2024, representing a 265% increase from the previous year. This growth has spurred secondary markets, including academies, tournaments, and equipment sales.
Simultaneously, tennis maintains a consolidated presence through infrastructure development and training programs. In June 2025, the National Interleague Tournament in Pereira hosted over 400 players. Furthermore, the Ministry of Sport and the Colombian Tennis Federation have entered into a contract to fund technical staff, training, and competition logistics to strengthen the sport's development.
