PAGASA warns of thunderstorms and flood risks in Visayas and Mindanao

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued weather forecasts for the Visayas and Mindanao regions, noting unsettled conditions driven by the southwest monsoon.

In the Visayas, expected conditions include partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and afternoon thunderstorms. Temperatures are forecasted to range between 26°C and 33°C, with light to moderate winds blowing from the west to southwest. No tropical cyclone wind signals or rainfall warnings have been raised for the area.

In Mindanao, localized thunderstorms are expected to bring intermittent rainshowers. PAGASA has warned that these severe thunderstorms could trigger flash floods and landslides, particularly in mountainous terrain, near rivers, and in areas with a history of flooding. Residents and motorists are advised to remain alert to sudden downpours and changing visibility.
