Pakistan and China mark 75 years of diplomatic relations

Pakistan and China marked 75 years of diplomatic relations through various commemorative events, emphasizing the strengthening of bilateral ties through education, research, and youth engagement.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC), in partnership with China Media Group (CMG), hosted the “Echo: Youth in Action” forum. During the event, Pakistani Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Wajiha Qamar stated that the next phase of relations should be driven by science, technology, and skills development. HEC Chairman Dr. Niaz Ahmad Akhtar noted the potential for increased university-to-university collaboration, including academic exchanges and joint research initiatives.

In Lahore, a strategic dialogue was held to celebrate the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China. Chinese Consul General Sun Yan described the relationship as an “ironclad brother” friendship, highlighting historical support between the two nations on core international issues and economic cooperation.
