Pakistan and Russia discuss strengthening bilateral ties

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with Russian Ambassador Albert Khorev in Islamabad to discuss strengthening bilateral relations. Dar noted a ‘positive momentum’ in ties between Islamabad and Moscow, emphasizing the necessity of continued cooperation in key sectors and sustained high-level diplomatic exchanges.

The discussions also covered regional developments. Dar reiterated Pakistan’s stance that diplomacy and dialogue are the only viable methods for resolving differences and ensuring regional peace and stability.

This engagement follows recent developments in Pakistan-Russia relations, including an agreement to sign an Economic Cooperation Programme extending through 2030 and a readmission agreement intended to improve visa arrangements and people-to-people contacts.
