Pakistan diplomatic engagement with international partners

Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has engaged in a series of high-level diplomatic meetings to strengthen bilateral relations with various international partners.

In mid-August, Dar met with representatives from China, the United States, and Norway. Discussions with China focused on bilateral relations and regional developments, including facilitating the return of a deceased Chinese climber. Meetings with the U.S. Chargé d'Affaires emphasized regional stability and diplomatic progress, while talks with the Norwegian Foreign Minister centered on enhancing cooperation and acknowledging the long-standing partnership between the two nations.

Following these engagements, Dar met with the Russian Ambassador to discuss maintaining ‘positive momentum’ in ties between Islamabad and Moscow. The discussions highlighted the need for cooperation in key sectors and high-level exchanges, building upon recent agreements such as an Economic Cooperation Programme extending through 2030 and new visa arrangements. Throughout these meetings, Dar consistently advocated for diplomacy and dialogue as the primary means to ensure regional peace and stability.
