Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq summoned by Pakistan cybercrime agency

Pakistan cricketers Mohammad Rizwan and Imam-ul-Haq have been summoned by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore as part of an inquiry into alleged dressing-room leaks during the team’s Test series against England.

The investigation involves forensic and technical analysis of the players' mobile phones, which were previously seized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Investigators are reportedly examining digital data, including messages and contacts, to determine how sensitive team information was shared. Additionally, the NCCIA is scrutinizing the financial dealings and bank transactions of both players during the period of the tour.

The summons follow a period of significant upheaval for the Pakistan squad, which saw seven players sent home and coaching staff relieved of their duties after poor performances in England. The investigation carries a notable institutional dimension, as the NCCIA operates under the Federal Ministry of Interior, headed by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. Both Rizwan and Imam have appeared for questioning and have requested additional time to submit detailed written responses.
