Pakistan Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar travels to Jordan for Jerusalem ministerial talks

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar left Islamabad on August 4 for Amman, Jordan, to attend a ministerial meeting on Jerusalem scheduled for August 5. The meeting, convened by Jordan, will bring together foreign ministers from the Arab League and a group of Islamic countries to formulate a unified position on the deteriorating situation in occupied East Jerusalem.

During the visit Dar will reaffirm Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people, call for an independent state based on pre‑1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, and condemn Israeli actions at the Al‑Aqsa Mosque compound. He will also hold bilateral talks with other foreign ministers and meet Jordan’s King Abdullah II. The gathering reflects heightened diplomatic activity as tensions over holy sites and the Gaza war intensify.
