Pakistan expands AI training for government staff and remote communities
The Government of Pakistan is expanding its artificial intelligence initiatives through both specialized staff training and nationwide educational outreach.
The Office of AI in Punjab recently completed an intensive learning session in collaboration with Huawei Pakistan. This program focused on building technical understanding and practical engagement with emerging AI capabilities among the team responsible for implementing AI projects. The session concluded with a formal certificate distribution to mark the completion of the structured learning program.
Simultaneously, the government has launched a broader initiative to bring AI training to remote and underserved areas. This program aims to reduce the digital skills gap by providing young people in rural communities and smaller towns with practical skills in generative AI, automation, and machine learning. The goal is to prepare a workforce capable of participating in the digital economy through employment, freelancing, and entrepreneurship.
