Pakistan forces linked to killings and disappearances in Balochistan

Human rights body Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) reported that Pakistan's Frontier Corps opened fire on an elderly farmer in Turbat, killing him on the spot, and that a 21‑year‑old driver, Muhsin, was forcibly disappeared on March 16 and found dead weeks later. The BYC also listed seven other civilians—including a minor, a singer, laborers, a fisherman and a driver—who were allegedly detained and vanished by security and intelligence agencies in separate operations across Balochistan districts.

The organization condemned a wave of attacks on activists, citing the May 16 killing of academic and poet Ghamkhwar Hayat Baloch by alleged death‑squad members, and repeated threats against the Voice for Baloch Missing Persons protest camp. In addition, the Baloch National Movement reported an assault on the home of an exiled senior member in Tump, describing harassment of women and children and looting of property. BYC called for international scrutiny, accountability for the perpetrators, and protection of civilians and human‑rights defenders.
