Pakistan halts power outages after LNG deliveries arrive

Pakistan announced an end to electricity loadshedding following the arrival of fresh LNG supplies, providing immediate relief after weeks of shortages. One official described the development as "Load management ends as LNG supply stabilises". The relief is described as temporary as officials cautioned that continued dependence on expensive imported LNG could push up electricity generation costs in the coming weeks.

The government framed the relief as nationwide, with authorities noting that load management had ended across the country. In Islamabad, Federal Minister for Power Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari announced the end of load management, signaling a stabilised LNG supply even as officials warned of potential cost pressures due to fuel prices.

While the LNG deliveries stabilise supply and reduce outages for now, officials emphasise that the situation remains contingent on LNG availability and global fuel prices, meaning higher costs could follow despite the immediate relief.
