Pakistan military reports two soldiers and six militants killed in DI Khan operation
Two Pakistan Army soldiers and six militants were killed during an intelligence-based counterterrorism operation in the Zarkani area of the Dera Ismail Khan district on October 24.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) identified the deceased soldiers as Naik Ghulam Murtaza, 36, and Sepoy Taseer Ahmed, 30. The military stated that the six militants killed belonged to the Fitna Al Khwarij, a group the military uses to describe the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Security forces recovered weapons and ammunition from the militants, who were allegedly involved in various attacks against law enforcement and civilians. A sanitization operation is currently underway to clear the area of remaining militants. The military reaffirmed its commitment to the Azm-e-Istehkam vision to eliminate terrorism and prevent externally supported militant activities.
