Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Federal government weighs emergency and governor's rule
The federal government of Pakistan is weighing several constitutional options to address the deteriorating security and governance situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). Senior officials, including political advisor to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, have stated that options such as declaring an emergency, imposing governor's rule under Articles 232 and 234 of the Constitution, or engaging in political negotiations are all on the table.

He criticized the provincial government's capacity to protect citizens and manage the rising terrorism, which he claims is being facilitated by the current provincial leadership.
