Pakistan Prime Minister discusses KP political crisis with Maulana Fazlur Rehman

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held discussions with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman regarding the political instability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the planned long march by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). During the conversation, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of dialogue and political solutions to resolve current issues, noting that political stability is essential for the national economy.

Simultaneously, the federal government has demanded that PTI replace the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohail Afridi. Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry criticized the provincial leadership for failing to control terrorism, which has severely impacted 12 districts in the province. Chaudhry stated that the federal government's priority is combating terrorism and suggested that the provincial government's inability to secure certain areas has turned them into no-go zones. He further noted that the PTI's long march is a separate issue from the security crisis and warned that any potential imposition of an emergency would be a result of the provincial government's lack of cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
