Pakistan Railways restores Balochistan service after three‑day halt

Pakistan Railways resumed passenger trains to and from Balochistan on May 30, ending a three‑day suspension. The Jaffar Express left Quetta for Peshawar on schedule, with the return service operating the following morning, while other services such as the Bolan Mail and Chaman passenger trains remain active.

The suspension followed a blast near the railway track at Chaman Phatak in Quetta on May 24 that killed 14 people, including three Frontier Corps personnel, and injured many women and children. Authorities said the incident was a terrorist attack and pledged to continue counter‑terrorism operations.

Railway officials confirmed the resumption restores connectivity for passengers and freight across the province.
