Pakistan army kills 11 TTP militants in North Waziristan
The Pakistan Army’s Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that security forces neutralised eleven militants belonging to the banned Tehreek‑e‑Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The operation, described as intelligence‑based, involved intense exchanges of fire; weapons and ammunition were recovered from the militants.
Earlier in the same week, the army reported killing another 22 terrorists in the district. In a separate incident, unidentified gunmen killed four local peace‑committee members in Dera Ismail Khan district. The region has long experienced unrest linked to cross‑border militant movement from Afghanistan and the termination of a TTP ceasefire in November 2022.
