Pakistan security forces kill 27 militants in North Waziristan operation

Over a 72‑hour period, Pakistan’s security forces carried out a series of operations in the Meran Shah area of North Waziristan based on secret intelligence. The Inter‑Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that 27 Khawarij militants, described as Indian‑backed, were killed after intense firefights.

The operation also recovered a large cache of weapons and ammunition from the militants’ hideouts. The ISPR said the strike responded to the earlier targeted killing of a prominent local figure, Mallik Saifullah Daoud, and that clearance and search missions will continue to eliminate any remaining terrorist elements in the region.
