Pakistan security forces kill eight militants in Balochistan operations

Pakistani security forces killed eight suspected militants during a series of intelligence-based operations across the Balochistan province. The operations took place in the Quetta, Nushki, and Khuzdar districts.

In Quetta, forces thwarted an attempt by militants to establish a roadblock, resulting in the deaths of five individuals. In the Nushki district, an intense exchange of fire at a suspected hideout led to the death of two militants. A separate operation in Khuzdar resulted in one militant being killed and the recovery of approximately 490 kilograms of explosives.

These actions are part of the ongoing counterterrorism campaign known as Azm-e-Istehkam. The region has seen an increase in violence, including recent kidnappings of laborers and police personnel. While the military has characterized the militants as being supported by foreign interests, the province remains a center for long-running separatist insurgencies.
