Six militants killed in Lower Dir police‑CTD operation

Security forces in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province carried out an intelligence‑based raid in the Brichar area of Talash, Lower Dir, killing six militants. The joint operation involved district police, the Elite Force and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). The deceased were identified as Khalil‑ur‑Rehman, Naeem‑ud‑Din and Kifayatullah, among others. Authorities recovered six Kalashnikov rifles and three hand grenades from the site. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the professionalism and bravery of the police and CTD personnel, saying the operation thwarted the militants’ plans and underscored the commitment to eradicate militancy from the province.

The raid followed credible intelligence about the militants’ presence and their involvement in attacks on a police checkpoint and the killing of a police official. A search operation is underway to locate any remaining accomplices.
