Pakistan seeks to mediate US-Iran tensions and demands Taliban action

Pakistan's Foreign Office has expressed concern regarding rising tensions between the United States and Iran. Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that diplomatic efforts are ongoing and Pakistan remains in contact with both nations to resolve the dispute, expressing hope that both parties will return to the negotiating table.

Regarding Afghanistan, Pakistan maintains that progress in relations is contingent upon concrete and verifiable actions by the Taliban government. Specifically, the Taliban must take effective action against terrorist organizations such as the TTP and BLA and provide guarantees that Afghan soil will not be used for terrorism.

On regional issues, Pakistan welcomed a decision from the International Court of Arbitration in The Hague concerning the Indus Waters Treaty, noting that the ruling supports Pakistan's position. The Foreign Office criticized India's rejection of the decision, stating that unilateral actions regarding transboundary water resources undermine international law and regional stability.
