Pakistan seeks to remove licensing and fees for 25 kW solar installations

The Power Division has formally urged the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to remove licensing requirements and associated fees for solar users with systems up to 25 kilowatts in Pakistan. The move follows directives from Energy Minister Awais Leghari and aims to simplify access for domestic solar consumers.

Officials say the request is intended to reduce regulatory barriers and encourage broader adoption of solar energy among small users, aligning with government efforts to promote cleaner power and ease for residential customers.
