Pakistan student arrested for alleged poisoning attempt using AI advice

A 17-year-old high school student has been arrested in Bahawalpur, Punjab, for allegedly attempting to poison his father using chemical substances. The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) launched an operation in the city following an automated alert regarding suspicious chemical-related searches.

Investigators claim the student established a small laboratory in his home, reportedly inspired by the television series ‘Breaking Bad’. Digital forensics suggest the teenager used artificial intelligence to seek advice on how to administer a potentially lethal substance.

Authorities found that the student had procured various chemical components from both domestic and international sources. The NCCIA is currently conducting a wide-scale forensic investigation to determine the exact nature of the chemicals used and to analyze the specific content of the AI-generated responses.
