Pakistan tests extended-range Fatah-4 cruise missile
Pakistan has successfully conducted a test launch of the Fatah-4 ER, an extended-range version of its indigenously developed ground-launched cruise missile. Developed by the National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM), the missile is designed for high-precision, conventional deep-strike roles.
The Fatah-4 ER features advanced avionics and modern navigation systems to improve accuracy and survivability. It utilizes ‘terrain-hugging’ technology, flying at low altitudes to evade enemy radar and missile defense systems. While the military has not officially disclosed the exact range of the extended version, the baseline Fatah-4 has a range of 750 km, and some analyses suggest the new variant may reach 1,000 km or more.
The test was witnessed by senior military leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Army Chief General Asim Munir. The successful launch is part of the capabilities being developed under the Pakistan Army Rocket Force Command (ARFC) to enhance conventional strike capabilities.
