Pakistan missile technology development

Overview

Pakistan has conducted a series of successful tests for its advanced missile systems. On October 6, 2026, the military tested the Fatah-4 ER, an extended-range, indigenously developed ground-launched cruise missile designed for high-precision, conventional deep-strike roles. The missile utilizes ‘terrain-hugging’ technology to evade radar and missile defense systems.

Following this, on October 13, 2026, the Pakistan Army successfully test-fired the Fatah-2 Extended Range (ER) missile. Described as a hypersonic ballistic weapon, the Fatah-2 ER is designed to overcome enemy missile defense systems through its unique trajectory and maneuverability.

Both tests were witnessed by senior military leadership and officials, including President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, as part of efforts to enhance the country’s long-range strike capabilities.
