Pakistan weather: High heat and humidity expected across plains

Pakistan is experiencing a period of hot and mostly dry weather, with significant heat and humidity affecting various regions. Karachi is facing particularly muggy conditions, with daytime temperatures expected to range between 37°C and 39°C. Due to high humidity levels, the heat index—the temperature felt by the body—could reach as high as 42°C.

While much of the country remains dry, weather patterns vary by region. Most plain areas will remain hot, whereas northern hilly areas may see partly cloudy skies or afternoon thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds. In Balochistan, most areas will stay hot and dry, though light rain is possible in districts such as Barkhan, Musakhel, and Ziarat.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, several districts including Dir, Swat, and Abbottabad may experience rain and thunderstorms. Other areas like Nowshera and Kohat might see light drizzle. Overall, the country is maintaining a predominantly dry weather pattern with isolated instances of precipitation in northern catchment areas.
